Finding fill ins

A great way to organise fill ins is to post it on our clubs Facebook page.  If you have not already done so please join our club’s Facebook page.  The vast majority of our club’s communication, information, updates, results, events and day to day happenings are all posted on our club’s wall!  Please join the group to keep up with everything that is going on.  If you do not wish to receive email notifications every single time a member posts or comments, you can tick on EDIT SETTINGS and untick the notifications box.

Please feel free to post and comment on the club’s wall, however please ensure that all comments are positive, supportive and encouraging.

Game Results

If you are not on Facebook, please join the club’s page and post your results on our page.  Feel free to post any positive and encouraging comments only.  The more communication, the better!  Results need to include: who you played, whether you won, lost or drew, the score, who received the  award and a short, but positive comment about the game.

Voting Procedure - Junior Best and Fairest

 Detailed below are the procedures to be followed when voting for Best and Fairest;

Voting is for teams in 11 & Under Open and above for all Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday Junior competitions.

Voting for all eligible teams will commence from Round 3 for each competition, and conclude 2 rounds prior to the end of the season.

Voting consists of two (2) parts:

  1. One voting slip to be completed by the Team Coach
  2. One voting slip to be completed by the Berwick Springs scorer/parent

Votes are audited by the Voting Coordinator and if required the Club’s Committee to ensure the voting procedures are being followed.

Voting Slip Procedures:

  • Write the players name on the slip (NOT the position) and full name if two players have same or similar first name.
  • Fill in players are NOT to receive votes. Team Manager to advise the parent voting on day of voting which players are fill ins so that no votes are to be awarded.
  • Carefully select vote choices prior to completing the voting slip as changes to votes made on the slip will not be permitted and will void votes for that game.
  • Coaches and Voting Parents are permitted to vote for their own children if they genuinely believe they have earned votes for their performance in the game.
  • However, if a voting parent wishes to do so the voting slip MUST be initialled by the Coach prior to the votes being sealed in the envelope. This is as an acknowledgement by third party only (votes are not to be overridden).
  • Be fair and honest with your voting as your choices affects all the players in the team
  • Any votes detected whereby voting procedures have not been adhered to will be deemed void and votes not awarded to that player/s for that game

Envelope:

Completion of the Game:

  1. The voting parent completes all details on the front of the envelope,

  2. Ensure Coach has completed vote slip

  3. The Team Manager check the votes prior to sealing envelope so that only eligible players have received votes,

  4. Both slips are placed in the envelope and it is sealed.

Team Manager Responsibility:

A roster detailing each parent who will be scoring & voting that week/game needs to be submitted to the Club’s Voting Coordinator prior to the commencement of Round 3.

The Club asks that each team rotate the voting amongst the parents of the players in their team, and that a parent/family member for each player must vote an equal amount of times throughout the season.A template can be sent on request by email.

Updated rosters for any changes that are required due to unforeseen circumstances, regrading, player movements, etc, are to be forwarded as soon as possible to Voting Coordinator.

If there are any issues with voting on a particular game (i.e. last minute roster changes, opposition scorer to providing votes), please advise the Club’s Voting Coordinator by email as soon as possible after the game.

Team Manager to submit votes to mailbox at Cranbourne for collection:

  • Cranbourne Games: Immediately after the game the completed envelope is then handed into the Control Room at Cranbourne and asked for it to be placed in the Club’s collection/mail box.

  •  Non-Cranbourne Games: The collected envelope is to be delivered it to our collection/mail box at Cranbourne as soon as possible after the game or on their next visit to Cranbourne.

If Team Managers or Coaches witness or suspect any inappropriate voting they are to advise Voting Coordinator or Executive Committee. These matters will be monitored and discussed further if required.

Coaches & Team Managers please ensure that parents are fully aware of the voting procedures and follow them. It is imperative that the procedures are followed to ensure voting is fair and equitable throughout the season. They are to be reminded that any blatant disregard of the procedures only affects all the players in the team as votes for that round will be deemed invalid.

Any queries or concerns regarding the voting or voting procedure are to be directed via email to the Club’s Voting Coordinator only. Matters that cannot be resolved by the Coordinator will be referred to the Committee.

Scorers

Each week our teams are required to provide a score.  The Team Manager should make up a roster or ask a different parent to score each week.  Children are not supposed to sit behind the scorers bench however sometimes this cannot be avoided.
